Mike,

It's a good thing I'm not AG's psychiatrist because I'd tell him that the only way out of the mess he helped create is to kill himself. (g)

Mike -

(...Total credit ( financial & non-financial) expanded in 1Q99 at an annualized rate of $2.2 TRILLION , a new record, up 20% against 1Q98 and 120% 1Q97...)

Is this literal credit or debt balances? If I have a credit limit of $5000 on a credit card and a balance of $1000, which number is part of the total credit number?

Regards, Don

William:

I went through the "flow of funds" document from the Federal reserve and it didnt seem as alarming as has been presented. Perhaps you could explain a few things.
1.It would seem that the "decline in savings rates" excludes savings in securities and only includes time deposits and money funds.
2.Total debt (including government) is less than 1/2 of "net worth"

thanks
