All,

I just got back from DefCon 7, the annual computer hacker convention in Las Vegas. A strange, but informative few days with hackers, network security experts and government agents (feds). Some notes for DELLheads:

- A new software program known as Backorifice 2000 has been released. It is a follow on to a version released last year. The software allows the user to basically take control of a WIN 95, 98, NT or even Mac system and control it. The coding for the program is provided on the Internet so anyone can take it and alter it for "other" purposes.

This has the potential to be a nasty tool for malicious computer hackers and will most likely be followed by a series of plug-ins, upgrades, DLL files and other tools to allow it's capabilities to be expanded.

If anyone wants more info send me an e-mail

On a positive note, I visited the Bellagio Hotel (the most luxurious in Vegas) and can confirm that they are using ALL DELL computers. Wish I could be in Austin on Friday, but work calls.
