Kap,

<What do you hear about Motorola's yields and speeds? How different is IBM's Cu process? >

I don't pay much attention to IBM or Mot's copper process other than what is posted onthis thread.

<Can they help? >

I don't know if AMD needs help. If so, I am sure Mot will give them a hand.

Kap - Re: Mot's Process

All I know is what has been posted here in various forms. I don't know if you remember (or even saw) the links to an article discussing Copper yields in general. The article claimed that everyone 'except IBM and possibly Moto' (I believe that's the way it was formulated) had very poor yields. All in all, Moto have been extremely tight-lipped about their process (much more so than IBM). Other than that, all we have is a comment from AMD that copper wouldn't be a problem with regards to yields.

Re. "Dresden is emerging as a make or break issue for AMD. I know that AMD is adapting Motorola's Cu process. What do you hear about Motorola's yields and speeds? How different is IBM's Cu process? Can they help?"

Motorola is over ONE YEAR late delivering G4 (.18um copper process) to APPLE. What would you conclude??

KalKan2Us,

Re: "What do you hear about Motorola's yields and speeds? How different is
IBM's Cu process? Can they help?"

This is a very "silly" statement, KalKan ... Why would IBM "help" ?? Has
AMD paid money to IBM like they have to Motorolo ?? This should be very
"worrisome" to all AMD investors because AMD is relying on Motorolo for
all of their next generation processes !!

Make It So,
