Hey Nolan your going against the grain. Doesn't Java give you the flexibility of choosing the OS + hardware vendor combination that provides the best performance for your application ? Looking at server side applications they are much more portable (even if they aren't Java based) and hence can migrate between OS's much more readily.

Therefore why not choose an open iron environment (x86) so that you have the flexibility to migrate or re-use that iron elsewhere in the corporation ?
