David Hill was never asked about future
plans FOX has regarding sports.
David Hill did say that their success of baseball broadcast was attributed to the elimination of the wide shot. He said that FOX pays close attention to details and making sure the fans see what they want to see, action in the field. He said that showing what the fans want is very important and it is always a big gamble. ( Here is where ACTV will really pay off since the fans decide what to see.)
He was not asked about future plans, but I can bet you he would have hinted at the new interactivity (ACTV driven) where the fans choose camera angles, close shots, instant replay, player's statistics.
Since David Hill attributed FOX's success in baseball broadcast to what the fans want to see, I am convinced that ACTV is a critical element to FOX's future sports plans.
