I guess you've never had the opportunity to move on and become the CEO of a promising startup.

Herb,

I have no basis one way or the other to argue Saltich's departure. What I offered was my take. We will find out soon if he left for a better opportunity or if he left because he couldn't pull it off.

Herb,

How about the following simple explanation. Another company offered to double or triple his salary with fewer headaches and doing something which he might find more challenging. Maybe everything at Dresden is pretty much okay and he got bored. These are all just as plausible as something is wrong.

Hell I am thinking of switching jobs, not because anything is wrong, I'm just ready for a change. These things happen.

Steve

You need to get with the program.

Saltich's leaving Dresden Fab 30 can only be good news for AMD. The plant is probably running so smoothly and with such HIGH K7 yields and speed, that he felt his presence wasn't even necessary.

Now, if an Intel Plant Manager were to leave his post, that would indicate that Intel's Fab plant is all f*cked up.

This is all very simple to understand, right ?
