Papaya King: I mostly agree with you, to the extent that I understood your points (although I didn't understand what you meant by your second phrase in point #2). As to the prime goal of the maipulation of gold (your point #3), "to demonitize it", I'm not sure that's the real goal. I acknowledge that it's possible, maybe even probable; just don't know how anyone can know for sure unless they have inside info. I also don't know how monolithic the manipulators are. There may be various "powers that be" with opposing agendas, that could affect the ability of one group to consumate their objectives. But, in essence, I am afraid that I agree with you that the POG is manipulated. All we can do is try to piece together all the non-sensical pieces of the gold market and make the best educated assesments we can. (For that matter, I also believe that the U.S. stock market has been/is manipulated, as well, by the use of stock index futures, but that's ANOTHER long discussion.) Whether the "cabal" is ultimately successful in their manipulation also remains to be seen. I am diversifying my bet on gold. In addition to holding shares of FN, I also own physical gold, in case part of the plan is taxing away gold mining profits with a "windfall profits" tax when the price of gold explodes.
