When the earnings season is at its steamiest (July 12-July 30) I like to search for the stocks that will have good reports and after a slight pullback I'd reenter them for longer term holds (many stocks filled that criteria in the past AHAA, CHCS, MACR, ADBE, PLCE, ITN, FRNT, FWRD, PWR etc). But on the other side of the coin I look for the watch list stocks that are the most volatile, have the largest intraday trading ranges, a good business plan and some 'interest among backers, investors or bigger companies' (keeps them hopping).. Between botht he earnings plays and watch list plays there is always something to play in good as well as in bad days.
