earth to bird ;-) - Isn't that exactly what is going on in the HUD-programme ? - It is a question, I'm not quite familiar with all the terms mentioned there.

I have a feeling that there were also another government or Clinton administration activity which covered govn.secured lending in these areas - A little digging into the ARET infostore should provide some links.

It doesn't say Clinton announced his commitment to FAMC or George K. Baum. It infers that Clinton's commitment to the Indian's, which he announced last week is the same commitment that these companies have. In other words, Clinton announced his commitment to the idea, not to a company.
ANNOUNCEMENT:
Dustan R. Shepherd, president of First Americans Mortgage Corporation (FAMC), a subsidiary of AmeriResource Technologies, Inc. ARET , announced today that the company will utilize their Native American loan delivery system to assist George K. Baum & Company in originating
their commitment announced last week by President Clinton during his visit to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

Last week's announcement only says they were glad to be working with Clinton during the Development Summit. The Summit was even titled Shared Visions Native American Homeownership and Economic Development Summit, with an emphasis on Shared Visions. I'm quite sure there were other companies there also, with the same vision.

Last weeks announcement:
PMI's announcement was made at the recently concluded Shared Visions Native American Homeownership and Economic Development Summit, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and held at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, Pine Ridge, South Dakota. PMI was a co-sponsor of the event, which featured a visit and speech on homeownership and economic development by President Clinton.

''We are delighted to be working with President Clinton and Secretary Cuomo in expanding homeownership opportunities for Native Americans,'' said W. Roger Haughton, Chairman and CEO of PMI. ''To date PMI has insured over 80 mortgages to Native Americans under our existing commitments, with an additional 100 loans in process. The expansion of our commitment will permit us to open the door to homeownership for many more Indian families and we are pleased and proud to be able to
do that.''
