re >>Gross margin percentage in the third quarter of 1999 is expected to be up slightly from 59 percent in the second quarter.<<

I have been following Intel for four years and I can tell you that they have almost always tried to be neutral, at best, regarding forward looking guidance. The typical pattern was to blow out earnings and be cautious going forward. (The stock usually sold off on the cautious position).

For Intel to be "Optimistic" about the second half, including GM rates, is significant. Hopefully, the pattern will reverse with Intel going up on optimism in spite of any short term eps performance.
Either way, I'm in this puppy for the long haul.

Regards,

Greg
