It Happened One Night, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Mr. Deeds Goes to Town, Philadelphia Story, Mr. Lucky, The Maltese Falcon, Key Largo, Fort Apache, True Grit, Giant, Rebel Without a Cause, The Great Man Votes, Suddenly Last Summer, The Lion in Winter, Becket, Woman of the Year, The Thin Man, Rules of the Game, The Grand Illusion, La Strada, The Seven Samurai, Sanjuro, Cinema Paradiso, North by Northwest, Picnic, Some Like It Hot, Duck Soup, Cocoanuts, On the Waterfront, The Pink Panther, Ordinary People, Saturday Night Fever, Children of Paradise, Round Midnight, Dirty Harry, Night of the Shooting Stars, Allonsanfan, Pelle the Conqueror....This should do for the time being. All are good movies that I think there is a good chance you will like. Most are older, and American, but I have mixed in some foreign flicks and some that are more recent. I suppose that you have seen some of these, but it will give you a point of comparison to see that I recommended them....
