Give it a rest, Kissy. I have a friend who lives in Palo Alto and gets over 1Mbs on his little cable hookup on a rainy day when everybody else is on the Web.

I'm sure Yahoo's or eBay's or Exodus' management would buy your argument that they should settle and be happy with one-third the bandwidth they're paying for because they're in Silicon Valley.

You're not that special.

You still have no clue. I live in silicon valley, and I also have to pay 1.60 for a gallon of
gas, while the rest of the country pays 1.00. If i buy a house here, I will pay 1.5 million
for a house that sells at 200k practically anywhere else in the country.

Consumer internet service in the valley sucks, as anyone who works and lives here will
tell you. But since you dont live here, you have no experience of how congested it is.

The average speed on highway 101 is about 5mph during late afternoons, simply because
every single person in the valley has to drive on it.

KIS,

You have totally lost it. You do not think that additional high bandwidth backbone has been put into silicon valley due to the demand?

Infrastructure is build to accomodate demand. I am sure you have highways with two lanes and maybe more in each direction. We here have one lane in each direction. If population increases, so will the number of lanes.
