I agree. Lose the slippers. I never hunt wild animals in slippers. Not enough traction if they turn on you.

Also you might try marking the territory as your own. According to Peaches cats think they own any unmarked territories they come across in the world. However, if you let them know, in a way they can understand, that you own a portion of the world, they are more likely to respect that fact.

If you carry the BB gin properly, your neighbors should not object too much. Positioning covers a multitude of fashion faux paws.
