I sure didn't want to own another overpriced portal, especially a secondary player like XCIT. I knew ATHM management was worried when they made the XCIT gambit. Clearly they no longer believed the company would be the dominant provider of broadband internet access. Whether they most feared DSL or "open access" I don't know. But paying a ton for XCIT was a classic case of "deworsification." ATHM shareholders were massively diluted. And for what? A captive portal? MIKE
