Thanks on your thoughts on rnwk, John. It's arrangement with Microsoft put it on my radar screen. Now it's time to watch and see if it starts looking like Royalty.

Thanks for the review, John. I agree that Real Media is pretty darn close to being the standard as far as streaming audio/video goes. Couple of points:

1.) Competition: it is very easy for a web site to throw some software onto a server and start streaming other formats (like Windoze Media player). And with consumers getting Media Player pre-installed on their OS, this could lead to another Netscape situation.

2.) Money: how are these guys planning on making money? I personally don't know anyone who has bought Real Audio G2 Plus, or whatever the current version is. And, quite frankly, if I did want it, I could go online and find a crack for it anyway.

Nonetheless, RNWK is on our watch list!
