I wonder what he bought last september and october - besides General Re..... ??????
Ya know, we keep reading about how rich people would be if they would have invested $10,000 in WEB in 1958, or 68, or 78, or 88.... Heck, not even just WEB - there are a lot of them out there.
My question is, where do you put $10,000 TODAY ? would we get the same effect ?
Hindsight is 20-20, so like MSFT commercials say, 'where do you want to go today ?'

you must be a fool. have you ever lived through a BIg Crash? they are no fun, I assure you. How would you like 18% prime rate and a stock market that goes down for 7 years and erases 50% of the invested capital in the United States. we have a generation of fucked up kids just now coming of age who were born in the 70s, the time of the Nixon Crash. they are not called generation x for nothing.
economic depressions are social evils to be avoided. it is a shame that warren buffett made his money then. let him use his ingenuity to make money in these times rather than just buying distressed merchandise.
