Hi John,
Sorry I just saw your reply to Pez. I was writing my reply at the same time as you posted yours. Therefore, the reader should know that yours is "direct from the horses mouth"(g), mine was just opinion.
Best Regards,
Jules

John, >>>please go and listen to the conference call online at www.intc.com and listen to Byrant explain the error of the analysis you've presented. <<<

What is the matter with Bryant? Why does he refuse to manage earnings expectations? Why does he put shareholders through this unneccessary turmoil, quarter after quarter?

Why doesn't he provide guidance that he knows he can beat? Microsoft does it quarter after quarter. It is not a coincidence.

I think Andy needs some therapy. Why is he fighting this? If he can't do this, then Intel should think about hiring Dan Niles. Dan Niles seem to be able to predict Intel earnings better than Intel.

Frankly, I don't think this is exactly rocket science. You should know approximately what your earnings are going to be 90 days out. You provide guidance a little lower than what you think you are going to achieve to account for the unexpected and contingencies.

I know Andy is a brilliant person. But, most housewives know how to budget 90 days out and come in under a few pennies each month, each quarter. It is not any different whether you are managing a household or the Federal budget - only the numbers are bigger.

Please, get Andy some professional (head shrink) help. Don't fight this.

Regards,

Mary
