NNC Take-over rumor...remember when there was a rumor amongst all the suits (insiders in the brokerage industry).
Look at the run-up of NN stock price from June 18 to June 22 (Exhibit A)
These so called suits were bidding up the price of NN on speculation that they were being taken over. June 22 Newbridge releases news that it is taking over Stanford, opps the suits screwed up ! ! !

19990622 06:38 NNC Newbridge Networks Corp News Release Newbridge to acquire Stanford

To top it off, that same evening on "CBC Business World Daily" at 6:30 PM. There was an interview about Canadian financial markets. A professional from the industry commented about NNC..."Hey what do you know, the word on the STREET was that NN was a take over target" Well how about that.

Aside from speculators and shorters are taking NN down, the majority of the volume of sellers are the same houses that were buying when the run up occured amongst speculation that the company was being taken over.

I remember day trading NN many times during that period and hey if it made in excess of $3000.00 that is fine with me. When I was day trading those days, I keep a pretty vigilant eye on which purchases of large blocks of stocks of NN and by which brokerage house.

Once again, I repeat: Yorkton Securities and Midland were amongst the larger speculators and now it does not surprise me that these same brokerage houses have been the net sellers.

Brokerage industry will always over react on speculation of positive and negative news. Perception is key here and once the dust clears, we should be back over $40.00.
