I have concentrated on this particular sin because, someone (I forget who even) brought it up in a manner that I found offensive so, I retaliated against that person. In doing that, the door was opened for others to join in and, as usual, things began to go far beyond what I thought they would.

I am not uncomfortable discussing this point but, some others who I respect and admire have mentioned that it was a bit inappropriate. Since you and I could debate this ad infinitum, I don't feel that anything can be resolved or accomplished. TD

The proscription against homosexuality is transferred right onward from the Old Testament to the New. It is comprehensively absurd to suggest that the Jews actually tolerated homosexuality. Folks who talk like this really have no idea who the Jews were.

>But why so much interest in denouncing this particular sin [homosexuality]?<

This particular sin is yet an abomination. Nevertheless the day when folk start teaching children in the schools that having sex with menstruating women is a good thing, and when folks who have an obsession with tweaking menstruating women begin to try using the might of law to force themselves on the Boy Scouts, and when such folk begin trying to extract from society certain rights strictly on the basis of the sexual habits, then I will start denouncing this particular sin.

>Jesus did not pay much attention to it.<

He did not pay much attention to a lot of things. Folks had enough sense to know they were abominations. Murder, stealing, lying, coveting, making graven images and keeping the Sabbath are all things that are included in the Old Testament. Jesus would not have suggested we just ignore these things, though He hardly harped on them. Bestiality is condemned in the Old Testament, and yet Jesus mentions it not once. I sincerely hope you do not claim this abomination does not matter to Him. (dear me)
