Great To See Your Post, Blue...you have been and are very much missed. It's always great to talk with you. Please tell Jed for me "Howdy And Much Obliged". And Peach, what a great song "Where Have All The Flowers Gone", and now it's been given a wider meaning as dedicated to Blue's Suspension From SI which is now extended by his choice. Woe! Whenever anyone is gone from sight, a blank space is left. This has been a bad patch for that, hasn't it?! And as Puna saw a lame deer omen ...got one for ya callit the "Looked Like It Had My Name On It" omen...
Late last week my car (with me driving it, fortunate I was alone) narrowly escaped being demolished by a huge runaway lumber truck late the other night as I sat waiting for a red light. He had either lost his brakes or was drunk; he careened around a blind corner on two wheels and almost lost control of the truck and flatbed completely. I had backed up to consider then change my mind about turning into another driveway... if I hadn't done that I would have been smashed for sure. First I heard a sound I thought was a big train on nearby tracks, then from around a blind corner from out of nowhere This Huge Red Thing come barrelling and clatterring skidding straight at me like A Runaway Train. Before I knew it, it'd jacknifed and bounced off the curb twice around me, missing me by a hair both front & back.
I Felt So Lucky as I saw it's taillights disappear down the road.. for a moment there thought I was A Goner for sure. And in that moment, wish I could say I'd said my prayers or thought about my Life
and Loved Ones, But No...what I said calmly to myself were the words "That Thing Has My Name On It" (LOL isn't that Stoopid?!) as it's giant grill filled my windshield from so close. Anyway, I wasn't ready to talk about it here with all that was going on ... kinda verklempt about it for awhile too. So now's a better time in honor of Peach's Song and Blue's Post. We're all made of meat & spirit who show the shape of our soul in our eyes...and we're all the same just looking for love, happiness, fulfillment and comfort in wherever and whatever time we have to be Around. Decent folks want a place to hang their hats. Blue, remember on our old board, how we'd talk about it maybe even being around after we're gone? Not a chance for any thread of folks to last the way things are going. There used to be such things as Pen Pals For A Lifetime...that's because no one presumed to tear up their mail! Folks Playing Big Brother chasing other folks around from place to place on The Internet will continue to make such a Continuum impossible and that's really a waste and a shame. Good Threads are disrupted everyday by those who get their kicks by bothering others and moving on for more jollies. Thank goodness that "post screener" is available where it's possible to ignore those on a thread that you don't wish to talk to, same as not answering your door if you don't like whose on the doorstep. A good solution.
The civilized level of sociability I see on this thread makes me proud to post on it.
Wouldn't it be wonderful (pretending the Internet was invented a Long Time Ago) if we could, say, read back on a board like Techride to the Very First Post made 300 Years Ago... then read it forward - Warts And All !? Those who find no benefit in continuity or history wouldn't see the use of this, perhaps. But for those who do, hoping perhaps someday Such A Great Thing Will Be Possible.
"Love Peace And Happiness" (by The Chambers Brothers) From Me 2-U

SI's JED and BLUE's CONTENT SUSPENSION ENDS
Hello Techriders I have ended my content suspension of SI. As you may have noticed I went over a little bit on the time of suspension. This was a business lesson to SI. When SI wronged me and suspended me for no reason (as I later proved to them), SI gave a date and a time when I could post again.
Since that time was not honored but several hours late, SI received a business lesson. "Do what you say and when you say you will do it". To drive home this point, I didn't post when I could of posted and then I prolonged my content suspension.
Part of the word content has to do with power and sometimes it is a good idea to remind those we entrust with power, who really has the power.
In each bad situation there is a lesson or two to be learned otherwise hard times are just that, hard times. SI I would hope, has learned several lessons and I hope they think of one of those lessons the next time they see a field of flowers. Content.
I have also learned some things, some good, some bad. The things that can be done better, I have notified GNET/SI management about. The good news is that AOL has a stone age system vs. SI when it comes to a pissed off customer. I've gone through both systems and know them well.
The other good news is Bryan B. This man is a true asset to SI, a problem solver and businessman, a person of his word. I believe that Bryan will make SI better than it was before.
There was a time not too long ago when you could do business with a hand shake, lawyers have made that a day gone by. Though unwise these days to do business with a hand shake, I would do so with Bryan.
The other good news is Jeff. Jeff understood what I was talking about RE: a field of flowers, perhaps because he understands the internet very well.
Jeff and Bryan both want to make SI a better place. I hope I have helped Jeff and Bryan to do this, that has been my motive. Though not a motive but a life style, I do not let myself or any other person be pushed around by a double standard.
This topic is now water under the dam, we lived it, we learned from it and now we move on. Water under the dam.
