Well JLA, I am not interested in your comments. The point for anybody else that has the intelligence to comprehend.... is that you seem to have some sort of problem with this womens world cup victory such that you feel the need to denounce any enthusiasm here with your regular slew of retorts... and the occasional lie (as in your restatement of the question asked in that "poll"). The fact is, this womens world cup victory was truly an awe inspiring achievement for sports in general, not just women's sports (although it is probably the top achievement in any womens sporting event in 20 years or so), and it rises to the level of, say, the mens win against the soviet union in hockey at the Olympics 20 years ago in terms of influence and accomplishment.... the members of this team are role models. Personally I was never much into soccer and I'm not even a fan of team sports in general, but I don't see how anybody can not feel some sense of admiration for these women that are barely supported by the USA monetarily, soccer is nothing here, and yet they won against countries where soccer is an institution! All the former eastern bloc, etc. Now why in the heck would some guy like you have any incentive to sit here on a political thread and make stupid comments like "I'd rather watch real soccer", and subsequently post about some internet poll where you mischaracterize the question asked to imply that nobody cares about this awesome achievement by the US women's team? I mean, what is your problem?? Are you so dang hung up on sex roles that you cannot even acknowledge a great accomplishment like this openly? If you don't have something good to say then why don't you just shut up! I will say again that guys like you are bad news for the women that associate with them.
