regarding being disconnected from aol, here's "a trusty little utility that'll put a pit bull's bite on your connection, holding fast until you pull the plug".

looks like you can try if for free, then it costs about what one month's worth of aol costs. it's called stay connected!2.2.

here is yet another utility to banish those aol "you've been idle" messages... and this one's free. read carefully, though. it looks like it 86's IM's too. maybe optional, maybe not.
