<<Rather than than the South Africans bitching about the BOE sales of gold, they should lean on the producers in that country that have been some of the most agressive forward sellers of the metal. Another case of misplaced priorities that are rife in the gold market.>>

AU(the #1 producer in the world) is forward sold only 10% of total production for thru 2002(now less than 3 years). Goldfields(#2 in South Africa) has unwound all forward sold positions(press release posted to this thread several times). The number 3 producer is now in bankruptcy and is disposing of all assets. How do you get "aggressive" from this? Much of the bad press concerning forward sells form South Africa is now only history or has been proven to be only rumor.

You and another here insist that "all miners are forward sold to the max.", and this is far from the truth. NEM has no forward sale position(press release posted on this thread). HM is down to less than a 10% forward sold position for the next 2 years (posted to this thread, the HM thread, and on CNBC).

Please note those very heavily forward sold from mining companies with no or very limited limited positions.
