HWP: Next Victim

QwikSand Predicts: November 15, 2001 or thereabouts, Carly Fiorina will retire to her mansion a multijillionairess after invoking the platinum escape clause in her contract, leaving HP for "personal reasons". Coincidentally, HP's server and PC businesses will have missed earnings projections for the fourth quarter in a row, losing market share to Sun and IBM. After laying off 70% of their staff, HP will spin off their computer business into a separate company housed in a quonset hut in Sunnyvale, CA "in order to create maximum value for shareholders". However, the toner business will be amazingly robust, and HP will announce at the same time that they are changing their name to "Plastic Fantastic Powder Industries (NASD: PFPI)" in order to "focus the brand on our core competencies and clearly disambiguate our core strategy in the minds of our customers".

Stock will be at 16.

Remember folks, you heard it here first!
