To the Thread,

I keep running across some common denominators...I admit that I am in wayyy over my head, so I need some techie advice....

Remember that NR from 7/8 regarding the Teknema announcement? [refer to the post I am responding to] here is a snippet:

<<<The Teknema Internet appliance technology used in the Home CTV includes an ARM 32-bit RISC multimedia processor designed by ARM Ltd. (Nasdaq:ARMHY) and manufactured by Cirrus Logic (Nasdaq:CRUS)>>>

Who contracts for the manufacture of this ARM processor...?? can someone explain the 'chain'?

If ARMHY does indeed contract Cirrus (does CRUS still have manufacturing capabilities i.e. now fabless?) is it possible that ARMHY and CRUS have other contractual manufacturing arrangements???

see this article of 7/21:

biz.yahoo.com

I may be totally all wet here....I have such a brain ache from trying to think this through!! Someone please HELP....!!
