Funny, AOL is trying furiously to force cable companies to open their wires to
everyone. I think they just won a case in florida, actually.

I know you know everything but that was Oregon and it is being appealed.

So which is it? Allen loses, or AOL loses?

I know this is a rhetorical question but its a good point... of course for gnet it would be preferable if AOL loses, however does it really matter for gnet stock is the question. I like Gnet because they are sort of a collection of very valuable sites. Not really the same thing as a generic portal... while at the same time being a portal. So, imo gnet is actually a better company than say, excite in that sense because we've already seen that portals are kind of fleeting as users learn how to navigate the internet. With excite you just pass thru... gnet holds on to you. Also, Allens properties are so varied that gnet can partner with them and who knows what can come of that. Allen has some pretty good retail like Value America (office supplies) and Zany Brainy, hes not just a cable empire. Of all his properties, so far gnet is the only portal - although there was something in WSJ about Allen talking to AOL, maybe hes thinking AOL can be a portal to his cablecos, but even then I think gnet can win! Because AOL is so powerful even piggybacking off AOL can be beneficial to gnet now. If gnet had a mkt cap of over 10 billion that would be one thing but 2 billion is quite another.
