I don't think there is one clear leader in new technology for analog IC's. Companies that specialize in analog IC's include LLTC, MXIM and SIPX.

LLTC and MXIM have a very similar product portfolio. MXIM does not make programmable IC's...you may be thinking of Xilinx, Altera, Lattice, Actel, etc.

Then there are the big players that have a large market share in analog but are much more diversified. These guys include STMicrolectronics, TXN, ADI and Philips. If I recall a stat I read in EE Times correctly, STMicrolectronics is actually the world's #1 producer of analog IC's.

Does anyone know of place on the web that would list such statistics?
