Re: SDMI

The winner has already been selected by popular acclaim. It is MP3. SDMI has compelling advantages to everyone except the consumer, which is why it will fail in the marketplace just as draconian software copy protection schemes failed the test of the market a decade ago. SDMI is a smokescreen designed to divert attention from the simple fact that the root cause of the "MP3 problem" is CD sticker shock and the only antidote will be for the industry to grudgingly slash retail CD prices to the point where piracy becomes a non-issue.

No opinion on WAVX, but I don't think its shareholders want it to be associated too closely with a DOA scheme like SDMI.
