Diasappearance of Saraswati?

Hello Mohan:

Is the disappearance of Saraswati connected to this? even though the author is talking about Sahara,...
"When the rains slackened, plants died off slowly at first, then more quickly, he said. Then, in what turned out to be a rather vicious climatic cycle, the denuding of the landscape caused things to dry up even more quickly. So after an initial extended drought period around 6,000 years ago, a full on, 400-year desertification started roughly 4,000 years ago."

The time period is in the same ballpark.
Sahara and Thar are in the same zone in the northern hemisphere.
Food for thought.
