The hoopla over the woman's soccer championship reminds me of the Monty Python skit where Eric Idol is a show-off journalist interviewing a dull footballer, John Cleese.

Idol starts off congratulating Cleese for scoring the winning goal.

Cleese: "Well Brian, I got the ball, I kicked it towards the net and there it was."

Idol then asks Cleese a long convoluted question about football strategy complete with literary references and references to the battles of Fredric the Great.

Cleese just stares totally uncomprehending at Idol who waits for Cleese's answer. Finally, Cleese brightens and says:

Cleese: "Well Brian, I got the ball, I kicked it towards the net and there it was."
