The Reuters report that I linked you to was carried on the wire and published on several sites, including ZDNet.
I think it portends the future for unrestricted cable access. On the 26th if San Francisco says open access then the floodgates have indeed opened and AOL wins.

Allright. What's the deal? I've been out of AOL for a while now. I finally decide to buy back, and everybody leaves. I'm going to get a complex (another one)-- maybe even a compelsion complex like ol' Barney Fife. Could somebody get AOL to finally announce something BIG? I feel their earnings should really soar between now and X-mas -- that's why I'm back in. But this price drag and disappearance of all the AOL cheerleaders has me spooked. I may even switch to AOL for my provider -- got one of those 250 free hour CD's today -- my current ISP is about to expire, and everyone I know is on AOL. I'll just keep talking if anyone's out there. Hello?

I declare AOL a wonderful investment. Now it can resume it's climb back to a new high. A broadband announcement is all it would take -- hint, hint Steve!

I remain,

SOROS
