Globe says Mountain Province expects decision by October Mountain Province Mining Inc MPV Shares issued 42,444,760 Jul 13 close $2.96 Wed 14 Jul 99 In the News The Globe and Mail reports in a Dow Jones dispatch in its Wednesday edition that Mountain Province Mining of Vancouver says it expects South Africa's De Beers Consolidated Mines to maker a decision by October to proceed with a feasibility study to develop a diamond mine on the AK claims in the Lac de Gras area of the Northwest Territories. Jan Vandersande, president of Mountain Province, says that using "very rough estimates," De Beers thinks the proposed mine could cost up to $350-million (U.S.).
