Joseph, I am an agnostic when it comes to the options strike price relationship. However, I suppose anything is possible. I certainly don't have an explanation, so all I can do, is "report from the field".

Well, NITE dipped below 55. This stock goes down more often than Monica. Negative again. Not good.

I don't actually have a strong position either way.
But I like to look at data and then at motivation.
If both exist, there's smoke. And possibly a fire.

No easy way to confirm. But repeated observation
over time may lend more credibility to the theory.
There tends to be some element of truth in folk-lore;
and the options theory is part of the folk-lore.
