greg:<the whole idea...is to take in the big iron and the minis> Thanks again greg. It certainly sounds like one should diversify. With sunw, ibm, and dell going after accounts, where do you feel HWP will end up? If they were smart enough to partner with Intel to develop some of this, and I think they have partnered with sunw on some significant efforts, are they going to ever really get marketing focus back. I certainly know they have alot of business, but I don't see them surviving the excellent focused marketing machines of sunw, ibm and dell in the long run, or even in the next two years. Shouldn't they just sell off significant parts of their business, while they still have value? Is there anything they have which might help Dell? Thanks again...

greg: <my question about HWP> I wanted to add to my question put to you, that my orientation and question put to you, is from the point of view as a marketing person. My bias is that hwp simply does not have the marketing capacity for the huge accounts, and ibm, sunw, and dell do; therefore hwp should be broken up. I have "followed" hwp since 1961, and have always been sad about their ability to market total systems---so I'm anxious to know whether what they do in the world interests you at all. Even a guess would be fine, and tia...If this is kind of way off topic for you, please just ignore it...
