Read the release. 11 vs. 14 days. Not a cure. So far just a blood thinner. ASA will do the same thing. All randomized patients who received 400 mg of pleconaril three times daily experienced a greater than 3 day reduction in the median time to complete elimination of disease symptoms (11 days versus more than 14 days, p = 0.01) and a 3 day reduction in the median time to a global assessment score ofzero (11 days versus 14 days, p = 0.002). In that same group, patients experienced a reduction in the median time to elimination of individual disease symptoms including nasal congestion (7 versus 8 days, p = 0.035), rhinorrhea (6 versus 8 days, p = 0.041) and pharyngitis (4 versus 5 days, p = 0.003). Positive clinical results were observed in the smaller study (n = 221) in which patients received either 200 mg or 400 mg of pleconaril or placebo three timesdaily.
