Shalom,
Thank You for taking the time to share your obviously heartfelt emotions with me. I do appreciate it.

<< Mark There are no inconsistencies in the word of God. It may appear to some that there are, but in fact there are none.>>

Andy felt that there was some inconsistencies, as do many Christians.
Personally, I don't think the fact that there are inconsistencies detracts from Christianity. Personally, I don't think the bible is intended to be taken literally, but that is only my opinion.

<<This Holy book, The Bible, is to be taken literally where it was meant to be >>

I'm not sure that I follow you here. Are you saying that some parts are to be taken literally, but not others? If so, how do you know which parts?

<<Mark, Don has asked of you multiple times to just read the Gospel of John, and you will not even do that much. How do you expect God to ever bless you with the truth of His word when you will not even give Him the time to hear Him out? God is not mocked Mark>>

Shalom, It is truly not my intention to mock God. If it appears that is what I am doing, I apologize.

I am not trying to mock your faith, but I have no interest in becoming a Christian. The reason I do not take you or Don up on what I have always assumed to be a sincere offer, is that I don't want to be put in a position of constantly debating the merits of either of our spiritual paths.

What I am interested in is just finding out why people think and believe the way they do. In my life, I have met very few fundamentalist Christians. I basicly only knew of them what was portrayed in the media. the very religious of any faith are rarely portrayed fairly in the media, so I knew I wasn't getting a complete picture. When I saw this thread, I figured it was a great opportunity
to talk with people in a fashion that I might not otherwise get a chance to.

I think it has been a great experience for me. Like most groups, there are nice people, intelligent people, and some not so nice people. Just like everyone else, we all have similar concerns and fears, similar desres to be understood, to be liked, to belong, and to be loved.

My interest is in getting to know you, and to understand you, (hopefully to be "cyber-friends" with you)but not to refashion myself to be you. That is my intention and desire, mocking you or God is not.

<<Now if you'll excuse me....My corner deli awaits my Tuna on Rye order...today I will have it with relish!>>

and little chopped pieces of celery(for texture). :-)

Dear Shalom;

Thank you for posting such a clear plea for attention to God's Word. I pray that it will bear fruit in the lives of many. I continue to pray for Mark to open God's word and spend an hour looking at what was done for him through Messiah. Yeshua is a perfect gentleman, He will not speak unless spoken too.

Acts 26:25-28 (NASV)But Paul said, "I am not out of my mind, most excellent Festus, but I utter words of sober truth. For the king knows about these matters, and I speak to him also with confidence, since I am persuaded that none of these things escape his notice; for this has not been done in a corner. King Agrippa, do you believe the Prophets? I know that you do." Agrippa replied to Paul, "In a short time you will persuade me to become a Christian."

May your loving testimony have the same effect.

Shalu Shalom Yerushalim, Pray for the peace of Jerusalem - DLL

No inconsistencies? Well, you can start with these. I've got quite a collection of my own on another computer that I'll try to find.
