There is an implicit danger for shorts in here if they are not agile enough and that is:
Intel missed last Q's consensus; they said, third Q will be slightly up and 4th Q will be strong, so it would be fair to assume that the buyers today are buying on the projected strong future and many may hold long enough.
IMO this is different from buyers coming in because a past Q's estimates were exceeded.
