Ken, what am I missing here in this comparison between TMR and CRK ? People seem to be comparing on share price alone. TMR has almost twice as many shares out (45.8M) as CRK (24.4M) so the market cap is almost double even though TTM sales for CRK are slightly higher. This gives TMR a price/sales ratio twice that of CRK. S&P gives CRK a BV of 4.50 vs .30 for TMR. TMR has a somewhat better D/E ratio at 1.74 vs 2.62 for CRK. One criteria I have for E&P companies is whether they can make money in good times. CRK made 1.21 and .86 in 96/97 while TMR made .47 and lost .87 during the same years. Then CRK lost .71 last year while TVR lost a rather hefty 6.41. TVR seems to be doing a little better 1999 Q1. I don't get it. Is the production and cash flow outlook so much better for TVR vs CRK that it overwhelms the above? Disclaimer....as you may have guessed, got lots of CRK, no TMR. <vbg> TMR went down today on 3X volume while CRK rose on below-average volume.
