Well, you can buy some leaps without any time premium at all, example , year 2000, $50 call, almost no time premium and won't be expired till Jan of 1999. So, if you buy stock with 50% margin, you pay interest for the 50% you borrow. But on this leap, you pay no interest and time premium , and it is free.

I've got some ZMFADs, and I've seen similar behavior. I'm hanging on until after earnings (or beyond).

I posted that back in July - hard to believe I remembered it! I just closed out the ZMFADs for $18.50. I'm guessing I'll be able to buy them back for less before January (although I'll go out to 2002).

Having a small percentage of my portfolio allocated for "playing" makes the market a lot more fun :).
