My wife works in pharmaceuticals and just because a company states they are in phase II trials, there's still a long road to dig to get to final approval. In fact once a new drug even files a NDA (New Drug Application) it takes 1 year to get approved. VPHM isn't even through the trial phase yet!!! Here's news on the same drug everyone is bragging about today. "And here's a double dose of medicine. ViroPharma Inc. (NASDAQ:VPHM - news) continued its climb today, up $5.50, or 43%, to $18.31, with a five-day gain of 121%. The biotech company is moving on the heels of a study that said its common cold drug, pleconairil, shows promise. In November, shares of the company lost 37% after not-so-positive results came from another study of the drug for viral meningitis patients. The new study was the second of a three-stage process necessary for the U.S. FDA to consider putting a drug on the market." Glenn
