IDT to Exit x86 Market

Company Exits x86 Market

IDT today also announced it will exit the x86 microprocessor market and license or transfer ownership of the WinChip microprocessor technology and certain assets of the Company's Centaur Design subsidiary, based in Austin, Texas. The Company has received expressions of interest from multiple parties and expects to conclude these transactions or close the business by the end of its current fiscal quarter.

''The Centaur design subsidiary has created quality products and significant intellectual property for IDT, yet the Company's ability to drive increased revenue and profits by participating in this highly competitive marketplace has not met our expectations,'' said Perham. ''Our decision to exit this marketplace underscores our focus on the communications market, where we can deliver the greatest value to customers and the most attractive returns to our shareholders.''

Other than recording reserves for remaining WinChip products during the first fiscal quarter, the company does not expect to have any other significant costs associated with the exit from the x86 market.
