Good news:

U.S. stock index futures settle mostly higher

CHICAGO, July 14 (Reuters) - U.S. stock index futures ended mostly higher in moderate dealings, as a rebound in technology stocks propped September Standard & Poor's 500s, traders said.

Treasury bonds ended the session relatively stable, if weaker, and softer-than-expected U.S. producer price and retail sales data added support, traders and analysts said.

September S&Ps bounced to a pit high at 1,410.50 in the afternoon and settled 5.50 points higher at 1,409.20.

''We have had quite a run off the late June low (of 1,319.10) and we are obviously in a lateral development,'' said Terence Gabriel, a technical analyst at IDEAglobal.com.
