My theory is that IRID money continues to rotate into GSTRF. MOT conference call certainly didn't help IRID's cause. And, the CNBC story on I* with positive reference to G* probably didn't hurt, but I'm sure most folks in TV land didn't even pay attention to the reference to G*'s 10x lower costs than I*. djane

Speaking of institutions, 3 blocks of 30,000+ went through after the close at 30. Bodes for good open tomorrow...

I know that could easily be anyone on the thread, but I figure everyone already tapped the SMA from QCOM to buy G* at 17. :-)

JMD:

Just to expand a bit on LOR action today. The buying in Loral is typically dominated by trades in the multiples of 1,000. It is not odd at all to see 10,000 to 50,000 share blocks throughout the day. My observations over time would say that the blocks are getting bigger and more frequent, but that is merely an observation. Today, there were 161,000 shares for sale at 20 3/4 for quite some time. It took awhile, but someone came along and took 125,000, then followed up with 6-8,000 share blocks to clean out that sale. Then at 7/8 was another 50,000 offered and quickly scooped up. Same thing happened at 15/16. Demand is there.
