I heard the same thing and as a matter of fact a small OTC company that I follow is getting lots of dd interest even though it doesn't
qualify yet to be bought by fund managers called NPCT. AG Edwards,Piper Jafrey,Merrill Lynch to name a few are calling the company as some are also getting disclaimers for their clients based on a major breakthrough they are working on in a antenna connection
in smart cards. This same ciruit doesn't dissipate heat and it has the capability of being bent and still being reliable. The biggest problem
in PC's today is heat as in the P III's the fan is huge to keep that processor cooled down. With faster speeds coming all the time in this industry including very soon the K-7 which has 200 MHZ bus speeds
I think this technology NPCT has could be significant as I have visited with engineers all in agreement. Compaq needs to recognize this and do some inquiring.

I work at Circuit City and the Presario line has had its share of problems particularly with upgrade conflicts and software conflicts.
I don't like the newer models as many have a shared architecture with
the V RAM.
