Maybe, maybe not. You are making such broad generalizations. Steve Jobs left and came back when Apple was in trouble. Microsoft is losing so many top executives to sabbaticals or startups that they are concerned about their future performance.

Of all the guys you mentioned, the only who looks and acts like he is enjoying his work (to me) is Scott McNealy. That is just my take on it.
