AMD Yahoo Posts Hightlights:

- Last earnings report "AMD normally shots themselves in the foot,
this time they shot themselves in the head" - anaylist quote
Looks pretty much the same this time.

- AMD is able to deliver K-7's and make a buck. What do they have in pipeline to replace it. K-7 will be a $100 chip in 9 to 15 months.

- "In the face of Intel's intensifying aggression in the consumer sector of the PC market… further gains in unit market share or revenue growth are unlikely," said W.J. Sanders, AMD chairman and chief executive officer. - CnnFn.com

The key words are "in the consumer sector of the PC market". The K7 processor is not targeted at the consumer sector of the market. AMD is going after the high-end business sector of the PC market. The K6-2 and K6-III were targeted at the consumer sector where Jerry Sanders has stated further gains in unit market share or revenue growth are unlikely. So that's why I forecasted only 3 million K6's sold in Q399.

I can only conclude that you don't really understand the market segments very well nor the target market for the K7. Therefore your "doom and gloom" forecasts for AMD's third quarter are totally off base. But I will not slam you for your poor analysis, only correct you on your mistakes.
