I find that a bit of "quiet time" indulging a revenge fantasy can help me get over an unpleasant situation. The rules are: keep it brief, and put a definite close on it. It works for me, and after I call the close - I can face the offending person with even temper and no subversive impulse to Get Back at him. But I do admit - I will sometimes indulge a violent fantasy. And in those I choose blades, never bullets. Guns are so impersonal. Guy thing?
