You may be surprised to hear this but I'm glad that you're experiencing some volatile plays; you're too young to be so conservative <g>.

I agree that Mr. Softee is not as light on his feet as he once was... probably not even as light on his feet as LindyBill <g>, but he continues to amaze me. Msft is my oldest and second largest investment, and along with Cisco, constitutes the core of my holdings, though Q will soon share a spot with her elders.

I look to Microsoft for >50%/yr. appreciation with minimal downside risk. The shares I bought during the May 1998 dip have already returned 122% <g>. My gut tells me they are going to post extreme numbers. Net profits could excede 50% given the reserve they took for Office2000. They'd try to hide it but the SEC has just signalled them to stop stuffing the mattress. It could be an earnings statement mba students will have to memorize in class. And you thought I haven't been listening <lol>.

Hey, No-Stick, don't go getting impatient on Bill Gates. He's the smartest cookie of the lot, and I think he'll find a way to make msft the first company with a market cap over a trillion.

But anyway, rest assured that this Q is different than Qs of the recent past. ...
