All,

I posted this early today - it's about the Key Tronic factory being constructed -
biz.yahoo.com

Well, I called Identix IR today and asked about it and her reply was, "Well, anything is possible."

Now that was the kind of answer I was expecting to get from IR but that didn't bother me because this is typical from them. But I have to tell you, there was something in her voice, a certain lilt, a certain upbeat character about it, which said to me that, yes, this has EVERYTHING to do with gearing up for expected demand for keyboards using smart card readers and biometric readers. I have been thinking about this all day and I keep coming up with the same answer - Identix (and partners) are gearing up for a very large increase in sales of biometric equipment/software/services etc etc.

In the last CC Randy talked about how there is now a PULL for biometrics (IDX doesn't have to SELL biometrics so hard any more because customers are now ASKING for biometrics) and my gut feeling is that the PULL is soon going to be a RUSH into biometrics and IDX wants/needs to be ready, hence, the KTCC facility will be ready in January 2000 (after Y2K is behind us - the timing of this,I think, is no accident) when companies will begin to step up their orders for new security products which are so badly needed for e-commerce and our wired/wireless world.

So, is this KTCC facility for IDX and biometrics? My guess is yes.
