To all,

Westy's latest...

A WBN Reader Asks: If all or even some of the large sales prospects materialize for Identix (IDX 8 7/8 ASE), can management expand to take advantage of it?

WBN Responds: In fact, Identix has positioned itself from the first to be able to accommodate very rapid growth. By focusing on OEMs and value-added resellers (VARs) for its sales, IDX avoided the potential liability of a retail distribution system. Secondly, its manufacturing activities are designed for the assembly of off-the-shelf products, rather than production of unique items. IDX' facilities and production management are designed for rapid evolution to third-party assembly once sales volumes warrant. In fact, a case can be made that Identix has structured all operations to capture license and royalty revenues to finance acquisitions and R&D in the broad area of biometrics.
